What is a Sublative RF laser treatment?
The Sublative RF is a laser that deliver radiofrequency energy to the skin in a fractional manner, which thermally ablate the epidermis and dermis in a grid over the skin surface, where non-ablated zones serve as a reservoir of cells that promote rapid healing. The Sublative RF laser is effective in treating moderate to severe acne scars on all skin types, tighten the skin, improve texture and tone, correct hyperpigmentation and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

How long does the Sublative RF laser treatment take?
This depends on the area that is being treated; However, a Sublative RF treatment can typically take an hour-and-a-half or less to completed. This timeframe includes an additional 30 minutes for topical numbing to be applied prior to treatment.

Does the Sublative RF treatment hurt?
The sublative RF treatment is not considered a painful treatment. Some very mild discomfort may be felt during treatment. The sensation typically felt is heat, similar to a sunburn feeling. We ensure our patients are comfortable throughout the entire procedure and apply topical numbing cream and ice to aid any discomfort.

When will I begin to see results the sublative RF laser treatment?
Results after the sublative RF laser treatment are seen within 7-14 days; However individual results may vary.

How long do results from an sublative RF laser treatment?
Improvements from the Sublative RF laser treatment can be seen for many years after treatment. Results can be prolonged with diligent use of SPF+, avoided sun exposure and with the correct at home skincare maintenance.

What areas can I treat with the Sublative RF laser?
Essentially any area of the body can be treated with the Sublative RF laser. The most popular areas to treat are the face, neck and chest.

Is there any downtime associated with a Sublative RF treatment?
Yes, there is downtime associated with the Sublative RF treatment. Plan for 3-5 days of healing. Most patients like to be treated towards the end of the week, so they have the weekend to recover. Healing time varies from patient to patient.

How many sublative RF treatments will I need?
This varies from patient to patient. Results will be seen after one treatment, but typically a series of three is recommended to achieve optimal results. Patients with superficial imperfections may only need one or two, while patients with deeper imperfections may require three or more.

Are there any side effects or possible risks to a Sublative RF treatment?
Like any medical procedure, the Sublative RF does carry some risks. The normal side effects associated with the Sublative RF laser are redness, swelling and scabbing. Should any worrisome side effects arise, please call your medical provider as soon as possible.

Who is NOT a candidate for a Sublative RF treatment?
The Sublative RF laser may not be safe for those with certain health problems. It is not recommended for those with recent sun or sun lamp exposure. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not a candidate for this treatment.
